Bronson Hawkins Battles Through Double Duty at Springfield Raceway
SPRINGFIELD, MO (March 2026) — Twelve-year-old racer Bronson Hawkins of Rogers, Arkansas showed determination and resilience Saturday night at Springfield Raceway, competing in both the INEX Legend Cars division and the Full-Bodied Pure Stock class on the track’s challenging dirt surface.
Hawkins began the evening competing in the Legend Cars division, where he demonstrated strong pace early in the program before ultimately being credited with a ninth-place finish in the feature.
Later in the evening, Hawkins returned to the track for his Pure Stock debut, stepping into a full-bodied stock car for the first time. Early contact after getting caught up in another competitor’s incident created a challenge for the young driver, but Hawkins stayed focused and worked his way through the race to finish 11th in the feature.
Competing in two very different race cars in the same night is no easy task, especially on a dirt track known for producing exciting and competitive racing. The experience provided Hawkins valuable seat time as he continues to build his racing résumé.
Earlier this year, Hawkins was selected to the Race Face NEXT Class of 2026, joining a group of young drivers working to develop both their on-track performance and off-track professional skills.
For Race Face CEO Rod Wortham, the focus for Hawkins in 2026 is centered on experience and development.
“The 2026 season will be all about seat time for Bronson,” said Wortham. “At this stage we evaluate performance more than results because, in racing, you can’t always control the outcome. What we look for is how a driver handles the race car, how they respond to adversity, and how they continue to improve each time they get on the track. We like what we’re seeing from Bronson so far.”
Wortham also emphasized the importance of family support in a young driver’s development.
“One of the things that stands out is the support he has from his dad and family. That foundation is extremely important for young drivers who want to grow in the sport.”
As the season progresses, Hawkins will continue gaining experience while competing regularly at Springfield Raceway, one of the Midwest’s well-known dirt tracks that hosts a variety of competitive grassroots divisions.
Race Face also looks forward to working closely with the Hawkins family throughout the year as Bronson continues to grow both on the race track and off the track, developing the communication, marketing, and media skills that are critical for young drivers pursuing long-term success in motorsports.
Fans are encouraged to follow Bronson Hawkins on social media and watch his racing journey as the young Arkansas driver continues to gain experience and develop his skills during the 2026 season.
