Hawkins Battles Back to Podium Finish at Springfield Raceway

Bronson Hawkins 4-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (August 8, 2026) — Bronson Hawkins turned a late-race setback into an impressive comeback Saturday night at Springfield Raceway, charging from the rear of the field in the closing laps to earn a third-place finish.

Hawkins was in contention throughout the feature and found himself battling for the lead as the laps wound down. With approximately seven laps remaining, Hawkins was working through lapped traffic and making a move for the top spot when the complexion of the race suddenly changed.

As the leaders navigated traffic, the race leader moved to avoid another car and made contact with Hawkins. The incident sent both drivers to the rear of the field, leaving Hawkins with only a handful of laps to recover.

Rather than letting the setback end his night, Hawkins went right back to work.

With little time remaining, the young driver began working his way through the field, picking off positions and putting himself back into contention. By the time the checkered flag flew, Hawkins had raced his way from the rear all the way back to third, securing a hard-earned podium finish.

While the final result may leave Hawkins wondering what might have been after battling for the victory late in the race, the drive back through the field provided another strong showing for the young racer and demonstrated the determination that has become a hallmark of his 2026 season.

The third-place finish continues Hawkins' growing experience on the dirt at Springfield Raceway, where he has competed regularly throughout the season while continuing his development behind the wheel.

A potential victory may have slipped away Saturday night, but Hawkins made the most of the opportunity that remained—turning adversity into a podium finish and another strong performance to build on as the season continues.
